Saris Traps Fork-Block 3 Bike Rack Review- Video
Colin: Hey guys, it's Colin here at eTrailer, and today we're going to take a look at the Saris Traps Fork Mounted Bike Carrier. This is a bike carrier that's going to be able to carry three bikes either in the bed of your pickup or the back of your SUV just using a small little track platform with three fork mounted bike rack blocks in the tracks. You're going to be able to take your front wheel off of your mountain bike, road bike, whatever you might have, and then mount it to the quick release nine millimeter skewer that comes on the block fork mount.Now, one thing I do want to point out is that if you plan on using this bike rack for the back of your SUV, one thing you're going to have to do is basically just flip the entire system backwards to where if your hatch is right here where I'm standing on the tailgate, then the base is going to be sitting right next to it and your back wheels will be more towards the front of the vehicle. That's just more than they're likely going to be the best way to fit it inside your SUV or your minivan.Now, my favorite thing about this rack is that this is eliminating the need for me to have to get a hitch mounted of bike rack, and it kind of solves my predicament I'm in because I have a truck. I want to use the bed, and I don't want to have to add any length to the back of my truck.Now, the other part of that is I don't want to just lay my bikes in the bed of my pickup. I don't want them getting scratched up, especially with my spray in bed liner. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2019 Ford Ranger- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, it's Colin here at etrailer. Today we have in here a 2019 Ford Ranger, and right now we're test fitting the Thule GateMate Pro truck bed bike rack. Now this is a mat that's going to go over top of your tailgate, it's going to be a really nice solution for getting some bikes loaded into the bed of your pickup, and securing them so they don't shift around at all while you're traveling. Now, in my personal opinion of if I own a truck, the last thing I want to do is put a hitch bike rack on it when I have the bed to use for that reason. However, like I said, sometimes when you get a lot of bikes loaded, they could shift around a lot, that could cause them to fall to the side of your vehicle, maybe scratch up the top right here, or even shift and scratch on each other.So with this, you just get that front tire over top of it and then use the included hook and loop strap to get it secured. You're going to be able to get up to six bikes loaded on here, so that's going to be more than enough capacity to get a family's worth of bikes loaded. more

It's going to be able to hold up to four bikes, but two does come with the kit and it is this fork style mount here. It does also come with a thru axle adapter for a 15 millimeter, and you can actually go on etrailer.com and purchase a 20 millimeter thru axle adapter, as well. So this is going to be really great for the Colorado, because a lot of them don't come with a hitch from the factory. So if you don't have an aftermarket hitch and you don't want to buy a roof rack, this is going to be a really economical choice for you.So let me just go ahead and show you how easy it is to get this bike off the rack. Review of Kuat Truck Bed Bike Racks - Fork Mount - DRT12x100- Video
Today we're going to take a quick look at the Kuat Dirt Bag Bike Rack. This is going to be, as you can see, a very simple way to mount your bike to pretty much any flat surface. So, if you want to mount this into your truck bed, maybe mount it to a wall to house your bike it's going to be able to do all those things.It does come with a drilling template so you can easily figure out the distance that you need to get that mounted up properly. Some instructions on how to do that. But it does not come with any hardware, so you will have to provide that on your own. Of course, get your own drill and drill bit.As far as the construction of the bike rack itself, it's made of a sturdy steal with a nice rust resistant black powder coat finish. more

Yakima GateKeeper Tailgate Pad and Bike Carrier Review- Video
Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer again. Today, we're taking a look at Yakima's Gatekeeper. This is designed to be a tailgate style six bike rack or tailgate pad. They've designed them to work on full size trucks like what we have here today, so this one's going to be 62 inches wide, but they also make them for the midsize and compact truck, that one's going to be 53 inches wide.Now, tailgate pads like this, we see used a lot in your mountain bike competitions and things like that, getting the bikes from the bottom of the hill up to the top. You can get a lot of them tucked in here, and since we're not keeping the whole bike in the bed of the truck it saves us some room for some of the other stuff we'll need. These are also going to come in really handy for transporting longer items, whether that's going to be ladders, lumber, pipes, things like that. more

If you're looking for a truck and bike rack, go with the Thule GateMate Tailgate Pad. It lets you transport up to eight bikes in your truck bed. It's a large padded cover that straps around your tailgate and secures your bikes in the upright position with hook and loop fasteners.Here on top and towards the inside, it features some raised reinforced padding. The SeaSucker Truck Bed Bike Rack is a fast and efficient way to carry up to one bike, by its forks, to either the top of the trail with your mountain bike, like you see here, or just heading out with your road bikes as well. This also works with bikes with disc brake adapters, also. Most people are going to be apprehensive about the fact that this uses a suction cup mount to stick to the back of the glass here. As you can see, shaking it back and forth, this is not going to go anywhere while you're traveling.It does grip it by your fork mounts with this 9-mm skewer at the front here. Swagman Patrol Truck Bed Bike Rack Review - 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack for truck beds. Part number S64701.The Swagman Patrol 2 enables you to carry up to two bikes by their fork mounts in the rear of your truck. You can carry them by the fork mounts, or you can actually have these adapted for through axle bikes as well.To switch these out from the skewer mount that you see here to the through axle mounts, you would remove the bike completely, loosen up this screw, remove the inside and replace that through axle adaptor through at that point and then retighten that screw.The adapters that come with it can fit 15 mm through axles. It can also accept 20 mm through axles with an adapter. Part number S64715, which is sold separately.This uses a telescoping end here and this is going to help it fit varying truck bed widths with this knob to tighten down on the side of it, to keep it held in place. It does come with a series of locks that are key to life to help secure this to your truck bed once it's installed as well.It also has these padded ends here, so once you place it onto the bed rails, it's not gonna scratch or scuff up your truck once it's installed.It also has this latch on the inside here. more

It's great for carrying anything from your bikes to your surfboards or stand-up paddle boards for transporting them from one place to another.Now, what sets this apart from other bike racks, you can just throw this over the edge of your tailgate here, and this is for people who maybe don't have the hitch bike racks or don't want to necessarily drill into the bed of their truck for the fork-mount bike racks as well.This can carry up to five bikes or a couple stand-up paddle boards or surfboards. This has several points to tie down your gear, and also comes with hook-and-loop straps to secure your bikes. With the surfboard, we did use a strap, which is sold separately, and you can find it on etrailer.com.The tailgate pad is nice and thick, so it's not only gonna protect your tailgate from any scratches or abrasions, it's also gonna protect your gear that you're hauling to make sure it doesn't get any scratches on it as well. And even with everything installed, you still have plenty of space in the truck bed to store other gear.We also have this convenient flap at the front here, which has these hook-and-loop straps to hold it in place, so we have easy access to our hatch here. more

This essentially clamps down to the inside of the bed of your truck, has two fork mounts for different styles of bikes. It can carry the road bikes like you see here or the mountain bikes. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty we're gonna be test fitting the Thule instigator truck bed single bike rack, part number TH501. Thule instigator allows you to carry one bike in the bed of your truck, and it's gonna carry bikes regardless of their suspension style or style of the bike itself, whether it be mountain bike like you see here or road bike, or kid's bike even. It's a ratcheting style bike rack that clamps around the tire and slides into place and holds it in as you drive. The hook itself does have a padding around it to help protect your bike once it's being installed, and also it does have an open spot on the bottom here that you can utilize the Thule lock core, which is sold separately, so you can secure your bike to the bike rack while you travel. This has a quick trigger release here to make loading and unloading very easy.With one instigator installed here, as you can see there's plenty of space to add another, as well as another bike. This bike rack is ideal for someone who may not already own a bike rack and wants to use this for occasional purposes. more

The Inno-Velo Gripper enables you to carry up to one bike in the bed of your truck. You can place it on either the passenger side or the driver's side, depending on which one you want, or you can buy an additional set and have up to two bikes in the bed of your truck.With it installed right now, you can see we still have plenty of space in the bed for other accessories. It does come with these pads for your bed rails, to make sure they don't get any damage on them once the clamps are tightened down, and it also has these D links here, which can be used with the cable lock to help secure your bike to your truck bed. RockyMounts LoBall Truck Bed Bike Rack Review - 2018 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Tacoma, we're gonna be test-fitting the Rocky Mounts low ball bike rack for truck bed factory track systems, part number RKY1097. The Rocky Mounts low ball allows you to carry up to one or a few bikes in the bed of your Tacoma because it utilizes the track system on the inside to attach it. It simply clamps into place and into the channels here and tightens down with two screws, and does come with a tool to tighten those down. It tightens into place with our skewer mount here, so basically what this does is it works with quick-release wheels, but it also has a lock on the end of it, so once you attach it then it is secure to our mount here. However, it does have enough space in between here to place a cable lock through as well, which you can purchase on etrailer.com.While it does work with quick-release skewers, there is an adapter to use this with through axles, which you can find on etrailer.com as well. Another bonus about this bike rack is the fact that you can move it along the track at any point as long as the bike still fits, so it does have some maneuverability, and it also provides enough space for you to store other items while you're traveling. more

Now if you don't want to have a bike rack on the back of your hitch, or one on the back of your bed where your bike's going to take up most of your bed, a nice economical solution is this pad here. This allows your bike do drape right over the back.With your pad in place you can see here that the bike's going to easily sit right over your tailgate, freeing up some space, and it's going to protect from any scratches or abrasions on your vehicle. It's 62 inches across, which will allow you to easily mount two bikes, and keep them from contacting each other. There's nylon straps located on top that you can use for tie down points to secure your bike even sturdier.It not only works with bikes, but it'll work with other accessories such as kayaks, paddle boards, surf boards. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Nissan Frontier, we're going to be test fitting the SeaSucker Falcon Truck Bed Bike Rack, part number: 298-BF1002.The Falcon is a great bike rack for your truck. It's very easy to install and uses vacuum-style suction cups to go to the back window of your vehicle. It doesn't require any additional hardware to install, and it doesn't require you to drill in the truck bed of your truck.This includes a nine millimeter, quick-release skewer and, sold separately, has adapters for 15 millimeter and 20 millimeter through-axle skewers as well. This carries up to one bike and has a 45-pound weight capacity. There are also locking mechanisms that you can use to secure the sheer window that are also sold on etrailer.com. One thing to note with the plungers here, there is a lubricant that it does come with, should these become difficult to push up and down.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the SeaSucker, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. more

Swagman Impakt Bike Rack Review S64703- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be looking at the Swagman Impact Fork Mount Bike Rack, part number S64703. The Swagman Impact comes in a pack of one, which can carry one bike, and it's designed to be mounted on any of the rails inside the truck. The great thing about being in the back of the truck is you have clearance for any kind of overhang that may be an issue around where you live. It also allows for plenty of room inside the truck for other objects that you may bring with you. And since it's installed there you don't have the bike rack in the back so you can fully open your tailgate with no obstructions.The bolts included are tamper-proof torques to help prevent with theft. This is also made of aluminum with a nice black powder coating to prevent rust and corrosion. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2017 Nissan Titan- Video

This is also going to measure 62 inches wide and fit multiple different types of trucks. We already have two of our three straps secured down. We have one on the center and one off to each side. We'll show you how to secure our last one and how we would secure down our gear.We come to the center, we can open up our flap. This is going to be secured with hook and loop, which is easy to remove, but it also secured down that flap whenever you're driving. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Nissan Frontier, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Impact bike rack part number S64703. When it comes to bike racks for trucks you have several different options. You can go with the roof bike rack but the height can be a little bit of hassle taking the bike on and off. Or you can actually go with the hitch but then you lose tailgate access from time to time. Or you can actually place it inside the truck bed itself, which is what we opted for. And since this truck bed is a little shorter than usual, we actually went for a skewer mount in our track system here and that's where the Swagman Impact comes into play.This uses a nine millimeter skewer, which is what we're using with our bike rack right now that grips it by the forks. more

Swagman Impakt Bike Rack Test Course- Video
Speaker 1: Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers.Next, we're at the alternating speed bumps which we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement.Finally, we have the full speed bumps where we'll see the up and down action which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway. more

You just simply take it out of the box, you put it right side up on our vehicle here. You want to make sure that this portion here is going to be along the top side of your tailgate. Pop it open, and take our straps and guide them through underneath until they start poking through the other side, like so. We're going to show you one that we found is easier.What we'll do is we'll come to the center here and open up our hook and loop door, and we can lower our tailgate just a bit. You want to hold onto your tailgate pads so that it stays and sits evenly. We'll come to the edge. We're going to start to feed our strap through and between our truck bed and our tailgate. more
